Do I need to subscribe to HD cable in order to record HD TV from my computer?
I want to be able to receive and record HD TV on my computer... sort of like TiVo I guess. I have no clue where to begin. So please excuse me if these question are way to simple beyond reason.
First off, I only have regular basic cable. Do I have to get an HD subscription from my cable company before I can get it on my computer?
Or do I just have to buy the appropriate TV tuner and install it on my computer? In this case, is the quality of the picture I receive dependent on the TV-tuner I buy and if so, which is the best?
And one last thing, if I'm gonna record in HD, I probably need a pretty big hard drive, right?

No, you have to subscribe to an HD service before you can get HD on your computer, no matter what kind of tuner you have. There are many different types of Tuners on the market... Philips is good.
